1. Selected Plan Highlights
1.1. Cancellation for a Covered Reason
You may be eligible for reimbursement up to the cost of your trip.
1.2. Cancellation for Work Reasons
If you must cancel your trip for one of the Work Reasons listed in your policy, you may be eligible for reimbursement up to the cost of your trip. Your policy must have been purchased within 21 days of your initial trip payment.
1.3. Trip Interruption
If a covered reason changes your plans mid-trip, you can seek up to 150% of the trip cost in reimbursement.
1.4. Trip Delay
If you’re held up for 12 or more hours due to a covered reason, you may be eligible for reimbursement of additional expenses up to $200 per day, with a maximum limit of $1,000.
1.5. Missed Connections
Benefits for the additional transportation costs to catch up to your trip if you miss your connection on an outbound leg of your trip, provided the delay is for a covered reason and lasts more than 3 hours.
1.6. Damaged, Lost or Stolen Items
Benefits to reimburse for lost, damaged, or stolen baggage up to $250 per item, with a combined limit of $500 for valuables and a $1,000 total limit.
1.7. Baggage Delays
Benefits to reimburse for the purchase of essential items should your bags be delayed for more than 12 hours.
1.8. Emergency Accident and Sickness Medical Expense
Coverage of up to $50,000.
1.9. Pre-Existing Medical Conditions
These can be covered provided your policy is purchased within 21 days after your initial trip payment. Additional provisions apply (see the policy document for more information).
1.10. Emergency Evacuation and Repatriation of Mortal Remains
Coverage up to $500,000.
1.11. Political and Security Evacuation
Coverage up to $100,000.
1.12. Accidental Death and Dismemberment
Coverage up to $10,000.
2. Selected Examples of Restrictions
2.1. Pre-Existing Conditions
The exclusion for Pre-Existing Conditions can be waived under certain circumstances (please check this policy document for more details).
2.2. High-Risk Behaviors
Participating in armed forces training, a professionally organized stunt, sporting events, or athletic competitions. This includes skydiving, rock climbing/mountaineering, and bungee jumping, to name a few.
2.3. Committing a Criminal Act
This may go without saying, but your policy will not cover or condone your participation in a felony or illegal activities.
2.4. Acting Under the Influence
Damages resulting from your intoxication won’t be covered.
2.5. War or Invasion
Acts of foreign enemies, hostilities between nations (declared or undeclared), or a civil war are not claimable events. Please see the policy document for more information.
2.6. Self Harm or Violence
Personal injury inflicted upon travelling companions or yourself is not covered.
2.7. Non-Emergency Medical Attention
This includes normal pregnancy/birth, routine physical examinations, elective procedures, travelling to seek medical treatment, or neurological/mental conditions not requiring hospitalization.
2.8. Travel Agent or Tour Operator Failure
Failure of any Travel Supplier to provide the bargained for arrangements, for reasons other than bankruptcy or default.
